Paul Welsh is an actor, improviser and writer originally from Connecticut, who has been performing at UCB since 2008. Paul can currently be seen performing with the Harold team Cooper and in the solo show Paul Welsh Goes to a TED Conference (which he also wrote, and is directed by Amanda Sitko). He previously performed with UCBNY Harold teams Monstro and Grandma's Ashes and in the UCBNY solo show Men in Paintings: A Night at the Crisp Family Hall of Portraits. Before that, Paul was one of the creators and founding members of UCBT's long running improvised soap opera, As The Diamond Burns and appeared on the UCBT stage in The NYPD Sit Down & Shut Up Variety Hour, Cinnabonanza, In a World, and One Night Stand. Before that, he studied political science and Italian at Georgetown University.
Paul has appeared in commercials where he tries to sell you beer and tacos. His comedy has been featured by The New York Times, New York Magazine, and Jezebel and his on-screen credits include projects for Comedy Central, MTV, and TruTV. Paul once lived above a pig farm on the outskirts of Mexico City, has gone temporarily blind in one eye, and is looking to talk to you about Richard Nixon.
