Andrew Secunda was born and raised on the mean streets of Manhattan, where he learned to survive by changing the subject during muggings. He has been a performer and teacher at the UCB Theatre since its inception in New York, performing in countless shows such as Feature Feature, The Stepfathers, Tracers, and currently performs in Assscat, Soundtrack, and with the legendary improv troupe, The Swarm, of which he is a founding member. He has appeared in such films as THE OTHER GUYS, MY IDIOT BROTHER, and in the upcoming GODS BEHAVING BADLY starring John Turturro and Christopher Walken. On TV he has appeared in FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS, NTSF:SD:SUV, THE OFFICE, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, and in a recurring part as Dr. Ewing on THE LEAGUE. He's created network sitcom pilots including LIKE CATS & DOGS with Charisma Carpenter, THE UNTITLED MIKE BIRBIGLIA PROJECT with Mike Birbiglia and Bob Odenkirk, and LOVE, INC. with Busy Philipps, which ran for a full season until UPN cancelled itself. He's had development deals with HBO, NBC, Comedy Central, and CBS. He wrote for LATE NIGHT WITH CONAN O'BRIEN, for which he was nominated for two Emmys and won two WGA awards, and is most proud of his work with Robert Smigel on his Triumph the Insult Comic Dog's Star Wars piece. He also has written for SNL's TV FUNHOUSE and NIGHT OF TOO MANY STARS: AN OVERBOOKED CONCERT FOR AUTISM, for which he received his third Emmy nomination. His most recent work as a director includes webisodes for CHILDRENS HOSPITAL ("What If?"), and the IGN.com webseries GAME SHOP, which he highly recommends to nerds of all types. He currently is writing on ABC's THE GOLDBERGS, mining his extensive personal experience with a shouty, angry family.
