Joe Hartzler

[headshot]

Growing up in the lush Tuscarawas River Valley of Ohio's Amish Country, Joe's childhood was marked by hay fever and baseball. Joe cut his teeth improvising as a member of Isaac Improv on multiple national tours and a brief run in Europe. While pursuing a degree in Media Communications at Malone University, Joe co-created the sketch comedy team The Yellow Light Runners and performed as one-half of the old-time-y improv and sketch duo Spats and Cane. In 2006, Joe moved from Ohio to Hollywood to pursue a professional creative career, or, as he put it, "to cash in." Joe can be seen getting his fat head chopped off in the Sci-Fi Original horror film Headless Horseman , performing at Tuesday Night Thunder with Spats and Cane and Them Do This, and at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre with the Harold team Flap Jackson. He can also be found and 'friended on the Internet and it's various social networking utilities. Joe is a freelance writer and improv/sketch comedian based in Los Angeles who hopes coach Carrell reads this and finally realizes that Joe wasn't "pussin out," he just didn't care to play football all that much.
