Alan Lebetkin

[headshot]

Alan Lebetkin is an up and coming young comedian known for his offbeat perspective and razor-sharp wit.  Born and raised in North Carolina, Alan’s early heroes were great Southern humorists such as Mark Twain and David Sedaris.  Bold comedians like Mitch Hedberg and Maria Bamford later drew him to stand-up comedy.  Alan is a hard worker and dedicated comedian.  He strives to perform every single night.  During the day, he sorts through notes and works tirelessly on developing comedy bits.

Alan graduated from Duke University with degrees in English and film.  After moving to Los Angeles, he quickly became an in-house comedy writer at both the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre and iO West.  In addition to stand-up, Alan’s comedy resume includes improv, sketch comedy, comic strips, viral videos, and producing “The Smiley Face Show,” a large-scale variety show at the Westside Eclectic Theatre in Santa Monica.  His innovative work branding and promoting that show proved his aptitude for online marketing.  Alan now promotes comedy shows for colleagues.

Alan continues to earn praise for his strong writing talent and ability to connect with audiences of many different backgrounds.  His performance style is distinctly idiosyncratic, but engaging and welcoming.  Some of Alan’s favorite topics are hip-hop, aliens, and his unique personal experience as a twin.
