ELI JAMES is an actor, writer and musician in New York. His solo play
William and the Tradesmen has been performed at numerous venues around the city, including Ars Nova, La Mama,and The Drilling Company Theater. As an actor, Eli’s stage credits include the original Broadway production of
Bloody BloodyAndrew Jackson,
The Four of Usat Manhattan Theatre Club,
Becky Shaw at Boston’s Huntington Theater, and the world premiere of Jason Grote’s
Maria/Stuart at the Woolly Mammoth Theatre in DC. Further regional credits include the EastCoast premiere of Tom Stoppard’s
The Invention of Love,
[i]Gross Indecency[/i] with Philadelphia Theater Company, and
[i]Howie the Rookie[/i] with Brat Productions; TV credits include
Lights Out on FX and
Mercy on NBC. His essay “Finding the Beat” was published in the Random House anthology
Twentysomething Essays by Twentysomething Writers, a
Boston Globe bestseller, and his articles have been featured in
Time Out New York. His plays
Plastic, White Heartbeat, and
Buffalo were produced by InterAct Theater Company, the Orlando Shakespeare Festival, and the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival. He co-founded, wrote and performed with the comedy group
