Lou Perez

Lou Perez is a graduate of the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at NYU. He is a part of the sketch and improv comedy duo Greg and Lou Present Lou and Greg, whose character-driven sketch show, Surprise Party, ran for over a year at the UCB Theatre in NYC, with a number of additional performances at the UCBT in Los Angeles. In 2006 he co-starred in the film Checkout, directed by Dan Eckman (Derrick Comedy), which won Best College Short at the 2006 HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Colorado. He is a member of the sketch/improv troupe, The Wicked Wicked Hammerkatz (2005 ECNY Winners for Best Sketch Group), and has performed with them at the UCB Theatre in the sketch revues: "Reading Is For Dicks", "A Wicked Wicked Christmas", "...And Other Reasons To Cry", and "Hammerkatz Actually." He has studied improv under Anthony King, Owen Burke, Chris Gethard, Jackie Clarke and Eliza Skinner. He is pursuing an M.F.A. in Creative Writing at The City College of New York where he teaches undergraduate classes in English Literature, Composition and Creative Writing. In addition to writing and performing for stage, film, and television, Lou writes fiction and poetry, often credited as Luis Amate Perez.
