Courtney is an LA based comedian who is originally from the suburbs of Chicago. She moved out west to attend UCLA as an acting major, where she soon discovered she did not want to study Shakespeare anymore and chose a more practical major: Art History. After graduating UCLA with a degree she does absolutely nothing with, except have the right to be more pretentious at art museums, she began studying improv and sketch comedy at Upright Citizens Brigade, iO West and the Groundlings. Since then she has written for and performed in many sketch and improv shows at both UCB and iO West including her one woman show, "Courtney Pape: A Girl's Best Friend." Directed by Lauren Weedman, her one woman show was LAist's Comedy Pick of the Week and was described as "Hilarious." This did not wet her narcissistic appetite quite enough so she began to write and perform stand-up. Courtney is a proud performer for LA's longest running, all-female stand-up show, "Pretty Funny Woman," and has also performed at the Hollywood Improv, the La Jolla Comedy Store and Zanies in Chicago. She also currently performs regularly with the team, Mr. Body, where they perform an improvised Clue/murder-mystery form. You can see her performing stand-up, improv and sketch comedy all around Los Angeles and frequently at art museums explaining the difference between Monet and Manet to strangers.
