Tony Rodriguez
Tony Rodriguez is an actor and writer based in Los Angeles. Recent shows have included Glum!, a musical parody of Glee and The Rebecca Black Story. He is currently a writer and actor for CBS' Diversity Showcase - coming in January.
He began studying improv at the UCB New York in 2007 after several years performing (ahem) short-form. His brilliant teachers included Anthony King, Shannon O'Neill, Charlie Todd, Anthony Atamanuik and Dyna Moe. Tony is a proud alum of the UCB NY Harold Team The Bishop and the improvised Movie group, Oscarbait.
A Miami, FL native, Tony moved to New York having already had his off-Broadway premiere in a play that Federico Garcia Lorca denied having written. He is proud that FringeNYC reviewed his work in a NY International Fringe Festival production of RAPS as a 'gut-wrenching performance.'
Tony has co-written and appeared in several short films. Dan Savage called his NOM parody, created with Happy Cousin, "the best yet."
On television Tony has appeared on MTV Tr3s' Entertainment as a Second Language. He has played several super-fun roles for LandlineTV - most of which are included in his reel. And, yes, that's him in two of 'Michael Showalter's The Making of. . .Commercials.'
Other UCB NY shows have included The Brooks Brothers Clambake and the Same Sex-tacular, for which he has performed as Harvey Milk and Salma Hayek (si, you read that correctly).
Other UCB L.A. credits include Quick & Funny Musicals; Let's Do This!; and Sketch Cram.
